Can anyone tell me what's causing these 2 little gouges on every case my rifle shoots? It's an AR type rifle.

It's not there if I just chamber the round and eject it, but after fired it's leaving them on every case.

It's probably caused by the "feed ramp" just behind the chamber. If you look at it, you'll see a cutout on each side of the chamber where the cartridge is lifted into alignment with the chamber.

Why wouldn't it have them when they're ejected unfired? I bet it's the ejector slapping the casing against the bolt locking lugs as it's pulled out. You might put some markings on one to determine its orientation when loaded, and see where these line up compared to those.

Ejected unfired the bullet is taking the abuse, +1 it's the lugs causing it, no big deal

After reading this I got to looking at the rifle again and I think you're right. The spacing is between the feed ramps are identical to the spacing between marks on the case. Guess I'll have to get it smoothed out somehow. Making a nice scratch on the case neck after I full length re-size them.

Get a neck resizing die ;) Then you can worry about the scratches becoming a problem. Until then, you're only going to get 6-8 reloads and as previously stated, the scratches aren't going to be a problem.

Update: I took the bolt out and removed the ejector spring. I cut 2 coils off and put the bolt back together. Problem solved! Now I have scratch free fired brass coming out to reload. :rockwoot:
