noone should ever fire a weapon into the air, the bullet has to come down somewhere, could be very dangerous

I got you all beat. When I was stationed in the Philippines we lived at the back of an off-base housing complex (Timog Park, if any of you were near Clark AB) that backed up to a RP army outpost. Those fools shot their weapons into the air for hours on New Years. The wife and I crawled on the floor that whole evening.
