Has anyone ever owned one of these? The only thing
that I have heard, is the early ones had terrible triggers,
but the new ones have a new trigger assembly.
LGS guy tells me, he has sold three since the beginning
of the year, and no complaints so far.
    Thanks

I have one. I had a few FTE in the first 300 rounds but it runs great now.
No complaints, good for cheap training.

I have been looking at both the Chiappa 1911-22 and the GSG 1911 .22. To me the finish and overall quality seems better on the GSG. My LGS highly recommends the GSG, also. I have not shot either, but I will be spending the extra $50 or so to get the GSG in the next month or so when I have the money to buy. Just my :twocents:

Good luck with whatever you end up with!

I shot one of the early ones, trigger and sights were horrible. I did see one of the models with adj. sights and it seemed like a huge improvement. I still think I'd rather get a ruger 22/45 RP model.

Lots of people recommend the GSG. I don't think it's worth the additional money. The trigger is a little better and the fit/finish is marginally better, but the Chiappa runs great on CCI mini-mags and is tack driver accurate.

If looks are important to you, then go with the GSG.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I think I will go with the
Chiappa. Budget problems make this seem like a good buy. I did
get to talk to an old friend, who's brother owns a Chiappa, made
in 2010. According to his brother, early models were down right
awful. Bad trigger, and generally sloppy worksmanship. However,
in early 2010, these problems were resolved. He claims to have
over 500 rounds through his, with virtually no mechanical problems,
and only six or seven FTE.
    Thanks again.

This is one of those blatant cases of "you get what you pay for"...spend just a little bit more and get the GSG! You won't be sorry.

I have sold about 6-7 of these and all feedback has been positive. I did have one customer say the sights could be alittle better but I think once you get used to them they work well. You can pick these up for around 275.00 all day, anywhere.
