The NBC morning news is crapping its pants about the implications of the Heller decision, whatever it may be. They have spent all morning talking about what could happen in Chicago, if DC's ban is struck down, and being concerned because there is all ready so much gun violence.

    'Twas the night before Heller
    and all through the dwelling
    The sweet odor of Hoppes
    Was there for the smelling.

    The patches were scrubbing
    the bores with light oil.
    And all was in readiness,
    thanks to the toil.

    The bolts were tested
    with a "clack-clack-clack,"
    In case Justice Kennedy
    veered off the track.

Heller gets decided today (1 hour).

Note, though, that Heller is primarily about the Federal Government's ability to restrict ownership and right-to-carry guns (since DC is fed land). So, Scalia's going to have to be clear about what kinds of limits are and are not allowable by the _states_ (and lesser municipalities) to get something going against Chicago.

    Lets hope our man doesn't disappoint :) :) :):do2:

Now that is poetry . . . and to be clear, I don't think Justice Kennedy even knows there are tracks, he more like the super rubber bouncy balls, all over the place.

I really am thinking that they may issue a ruling that tells us this is a state's right issue. If that is the case, then each state constitution would be used to determine the rights for the residents of their own state.

I actually doubt that. I think Scalia's going to write it and it will state there's an individual right to possess certain kinds of guns and neither the feds nor the states can infringe on it. Check Scotusblog.com in 20 minutes and it'll have all the info.

I hope that it doesn't limit an individuals right to certain guns only or give the States the right to choose what firearms that we can legally possess :xmad:
