Christmas music makes me want to punch someone in the throat. It use to just annoy me but I worked with a guy that started playing the stupid barking dogs Christmas 10 hours a day repeating 3 songs in early November. Real nice guy but a little weird. He'd listen to it and giggle the entire time while polishing knee implants. I think he was quite possibly trolling the guy that worked closest to him but it was like nails on a chalkboard.

I agree about Eartha Kitt, the song and the classic beauty thing.

My parent's had a couple of Christmas albums they played while we decorated and then Christmas eve/morning. I've carried on the tradition, and it HAS to be the older stuff. Most "modern" versions just don't seem to capture the same spirit.

my dad has a friend that would do that with an 8-track back in the day. Play each instrument and mix it together. Cool concept but was about 25% to slow to listen to
