Up for sale is a very nice and not-so-common Remington Targetmaster Model 510-P. This has a born-on date of May 1959 and is quality steel and real walnut. This is a single-shot capable of shooting 22 short, long, and long rifle cartridges.
This is the factory “P” model with a rear peep sight. It has both the hunting and target apertures. This is an unmolested and all original specimen with honest wear for a 63 year old rifle. The worst being a patch on the bottom of the barrel just ahead of the stock as shown in the pictures.
This rifle is a real shooter. The target below was from this summer where I was testing several of my 22 rifles. That is a 10-shot 0.702” group from a supported 25 yards with Federal AutoMatch bulk ammo. This isn’t the “best of” grouping, just the first and only with this rifle in a string of 4-5 different Remington 500 series rifles I was shooting.
Given the rear sights sell for $100+ on eBay, I am pricing this rifle for sale at $350 OBO in or around Orange County (French Lick). Average sales for this rifle in this condition is $400. Thank you. One time price drop to $325 for Christmas. Now $275.
