I have some Tritium night sights on my Glock 22. It may just be me but they look dirty. They still glow bright but the seem a little duller than they used to be. Is there a proper way to clean them? I don't want to put any chemicals on them that might hurt them.
Are they dirty or is the tritium getting older and dimmer?
If you want to clean them, a bit of rem oil or g96 would clean the face off but if the tritium is getting dimmer the only way to fix that is new sights
Dishwashing liquid and a tooth brush is what I use on my night sights.
I've never had a problem the last decade or so.
I might be doing it wrong but it's been working just fine for me.
It's hard to say. I was going to try some Hoppes or maybe just some 409 from under the sink but I didn't want to put anything on there until I was sure it wouldn't damage them. They are about 8 years old. Shouldn't they last a lot longer than that?
I can usually get around 10 before they're ready to replace. I use the Trijicon and whatever comes on my old Springfields. Springfield guarantees their night sights for 12 years BUT they have to be absolutely dead. Any light in them won't get warrantied
