It was cited uncritically by, among others, reporters and commentators from the BBC, The Independent, The Guardian, The Economist and numerous media outlets in America.

The Washington Post said the BEST study had ‘settled the climate change debate’ and showed that anyone who remained a sceptic was committing a ‘cynical fraud’.

But today The Mail on Sunday can reveal that a leading member of Prof Muller’s team has accused him of trying to mislead the public by hiding the fact that BEST’s research shows global warming has stopped.

So the newspaper articles call climate skeptics committing "cynical fraud;" however, the climate scientist was the one who was committing "cynical fraud" on the public. I thought science had no agenda, only searching for the truth?

Just because they keep lying about it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Why do they have to lie about it if there is evidence of it? The problem is there is money in climate research and in order to keep the funds coming their way they have to keep the fraud going.

Scientists can be bought just as easily as anyone else. Look at the guy that decoded the hieroglyphs in Egypt. He was funded by the Catholic Church, on grounds he didnt prove the Earth was older than a couple thousand years.

I believe the issue here is not whether "global warming is real" but whether it is caused or even agrivated by man and human activity.
Remember there was a time when England had vineyards. There have been at least 2 ice ages and all of this before the industrial revolution

Global warming has been happening. That's just a fact that we have to live with. The evidence, on this planet and the others, is overwhelming. As cbseniour points out the cause is the controversy. The climate change crowd want to dump it all on humans, despite the fact that warming has also been observed on Mars and we aren't there emitting anything. That's where the controversy arises. Most "skeptics" accept that there has been a period of warming. We just don't buy the "humans caused it" beef.

It amazes me how this has become such a polarizing political topic. Those on the left blindly shout about how much we are responsible for global warming. Those on the right blindly scream about how it is not happening. They each say how stupid the other side is.

It seems that the reality of the situation is most likely somewhere in between, but we do not know near enough about how this planet really works to know the truth. Not to mention that the time frame is so minuscule in the life of the planet, that it would seem very hard to draw any conclusions when comparing it to the historical climate tendencies.

There is no amount of data that a politician is not able to turn into a plot to destroy his voters :yesway:

Now that this nonsense has been uncovered they conveniently change it to "climate change" instead of global warming.
    Still blaming man for nature.
It is nothing more than a scheme to control.
It is nothing more that a scheme to extort money, a cottage industry if you will.

    Why fake it?

Scientists call Times World Atlas Greenland claims 'incorrect and misleading' | Carbon Brief
"Recent satellite images of Greenland make it clear that there are in fact still numerous glaciers and permanent ice cover where the new Times Atlas shows ice-free conditions and the emergence of new lands...We do not know why this error has occurred, but it is regrettable that the claimed drastic reduction in the extent of ice in Greenland has created headline news around the world. There is to our knowledge no support for this claim in the published scientific literature."

I'll leave this gem here for you...........

Im under the impression they changed it (like they changed "swine flu to h1n1" because people stopped buying pork) because people were thinking "global warming" meant the earth would continiously be warming, making it so there would never be a winter again. After all, how could the world be warming if its getting colder?

Although ive also heard it should be called "global dimming" because polution is blocking the sun from hitting the earth, and could start lowering yields in crops etc

    Who knows :dunno:
