    I don't think 850 is all that bad for a Colt Combat Commander, but I'd try offering 800 first to see if they'll come down on it a little.

    As far as the idiot mark, the great thing about stainless guns is that scratches can easily be polished/buffed out, I carried a Combat Commander for a number of years & occasionally it would start looking a bit shoddy from all of the daily wear & tear I was putting on it, a bit of semi-chrome polish compound would bring the finish right back like new though.
