Good to see Colt so involved. There are lots of states that appreciate good business. Indiana would make a nice place for Colt to call home. Just a thought. :twocents:

Glad to see bigger companies voicing their opinions, such as Colt and Beretta.

I'd say Remington is a lost cause, and probably Glock, but maybe we could get S&W or some other large companies to get involved.

    Where's the bacon?
    To the newspaper author:

Capitol is in the District of Columbia. A state has a Capital.

No sir. A capitol is a building. A capital is a city.

The US Capitol Building is in the nations capital, Washington, D.C.

Indiana's Capitol Building is in the state capital, Indianapolis.

    You were close, though! :)

    Blessings,
    Bill

He is correct. Don't feel bad Jetta, my public school elementary teacher had me thinking you were right until I looked into it.

    Poteto, Potato.

Either way, its not cheap for a company to show down for an entire day (not to mention with over a year in back-orders.

For my company (we are smaller than Colt), that would cost us almost a $1M/day. Talk about putting your money where you mouth is!

What is really sad about Connecticut is that they call themselves "The Constitution State" and proudly proclaim it on their automobile license plates. I guess they need to change it to "The Constitution State as long as it fits our mood".

Still far cheaper than being down for weeks or months to shut down operations and move to another state because of unconstitutional laws. Or even the cost if there were a manufacturing exception, the backlash from private sales across the nation (though I'd imagine the government contracts would keep them from closing up shop altogether). Same reason it's cheaper to install a sprinkler system than to rebuild after a fire.

Could it have been more effective if they kept it undercover that they all came from the same place? Might come off as a bit more genuine.

The legislators probably already figure the only people in Connecticut will care are the Colt employees and their families anyway. It's good to see people getting active to shut this stuff down. I gotta wonder though, how many of these Colt employees voted for the politicians now threatening their jobs. Kind of like why the UAW supports candidates that want to kill off the car industry.
