I just recieved a Colt Lightning .22 pump action rifle from my father, it was my grandfathers rifle. My father remembers shooting it as a boy and I am sure it has not been fired for over 40 years.
The blueing is in pretty good shape for an old gun, the wood looks like it has had some finish applied at some point, maybe 50 years ago.
The latest patent date is 1887. ser # 773xx
I am looking for some info on cleaning the guts of this rifle. I can shine a light down and see alot of crud where the feed is.
Any other info on this firearm would be appreciated.
