Coming down for our 3rd Indy 1500. (where to stay?)

OK, this will be our third trip down for an Indy 1500...(end of August) We normally stay at the LaQuinta on the east side...
But the East side reminds me of why I'm doing shows outside of Michigan....
(we did get to see a butt naked crazy person last time!!!)

Anyhoo.. Where is a decent place to stay for about sixty bucks a night without getting too far off the beaten path to get back to the fairgrounds??

My hotel is in Greenwood, about 20 minutes south of the show.

I'd be glad to have you come stay. I give special rates for INGOers. You'll also save on taxes, as the hotel tax in Marion County is 17%, but only 7% in Johnson County.

I highly recommend Candlewood. Evan rented me a room just this past weekend. We were very well taken care of. The hotel is new, clean and the staff is fantastic!

It might be interesting for the rest of us if you pitch a tent on the green space across from the Fairgrounds next to the White river. As long as you're armed, it might make for an exciting night!

Its a nice hotel, my wife took me there as a surprise on my B-day last year. I started getting excited when we were approaching Gander Mountain. I thought that she was going to buy me a new gun for my B-day, but we went to the hotel instead. It was still a good day
