I had a work computer (new to me) with so many viruses that it would not function, I also had a disc of Windows XP Pro burnt for me when my personal computer crashed a year ago (both Dell D600 laptops) but I never had to use it. Now I know just enough about computers to get myself into trouble not really enough to get myself out.
I erased the new laptop and loaded the disk with Windows onto it and it works, but it won't log onto the internet, nor does it seem to have many drivers installed. I did get a copy of all the new drivers for it and they seemed to load, but nothing changed. I can't even open a program to see if it can sense my internet connection and I am now at a loss as to what to do.
