Wow. I would be furious as well if my child went to that school. That is epitome of someone pushing their own views and not the facts.

Of course nothing will come of it. The school board will brush it as far under the rug as possible in hopes that it all blows over, untill their next attempt. The people of that district need to serious reconcider whom they are voting for.

My daughter's Middle School teacher tried to pull something similar. She was basically shouted down by a majority of the students whose (Hoosier) parents had taken the liberty of educating their children on Constitutional issues. She was only able to get one student to agree with her anti-gun position and he was not able to bring any facts to bear, only emotion and "feeling". My daughter brought the Federalist Papers. Was funny really.

If the 2A can be infringed by the states, and the 2A only pertains to the state, then why did the founders write the 2A? That is just the dumbest thing I've ever heard, but it is consistent with the liberal interpretations of the 2A. Completely ignores SCOTUS rulings affirming 2A individual rights. of course, they think that the conservative judges like Alito are just wrong because they are conservative. The attacks on our constitutional rights will never cease, and the founders knew that.

Just the mental image of a 14 year old girl reading from Federalist No. 46 in class makes me smile.:D

She borrowed my hardcover version at first but now has all of the founding documents on her iPad. Too bad she is going into Vet medicine instead of Law really.

Her presentation was full of quotes from Washington, Jefferson, Mason, Lee and others. It was truly a thing of beauty. I posted the outline in another thread. I am very proud of her.

As I posted in mrjarrell's thread, the worksheet in question came from The Bill Of Rights In Today's World, published in 2003, so it was pre-Heller. Not that this was correct at that point either but it highlights a problem with schools not being able to keep current.

Flew into CT this morning and picked up the Hartford paper. The opinion page was lit up with both sides of the debate on gun control. I was surprised that the pro 2A letters out numbered the gun grabbers almost 2 to 1. The best one was a guy that lives here in the state and said that CT needed to change their license plates from the constitution state to the regulation state.

I think it's safe to say that we here at INGO are also very proud of her. I'll find that outline.

The worksheet, published by Instructional Fair, goes on to say that the Second Amendment is not incorporated against the states.

I read the article with my wife last night, and she became disheartened. She's a teacher and uses quite a lot of material from the publisher Instructional Fair. Now she is going to use what is left of this school year to find new material from a new source that doesn't publish such moronic trash. Unfortunately, I don't think she will have much luck in finding a replacement source that doesn't have the same views. The Public education system is full of progressive liberals and it's eating away at American values at an outstanding pace!
