    I trust the states to follow the constitution more than the feds.

    The states were screwed when senators became elected by general population. This is a huge push for the states to tell the feds "knock it off, we control you" and re-establish federalism

    Absolutely. Mostly because of their lust for power. Which I do not see as a bad thing under the circumstances.

    What was left fell apart at that point. We really need proper federalism back.

    Repeal the 17th Amendment and call it good.

    That's a good start. I'd like to see the 16th go away. I'd also like to see some serious clarification of the 14th. Thanks to the 14th "free the slaves" (seriously paraphrased) has turned into "States must do as they're told about everything". I don't think using the 14th to support Gay Marriage is quite what the folks back then had in mind.
