I am considering converting my AR to fire 300 blackout, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience doing this? I was told all that needs to be changed is the barrel.:ar15:

If you want the flexibility to shoot both 5.56 AND .300BLK, then I would recommend a separate dedicated upper.

If you're just wanting to convert one of your 5.56 guns to .300BLK then a barrel swap is indeed all that is needed.

Both midway and brownells are supposed to have cmmg barrels in stock by the end of the month. Both have promo codes out. From talking to cmmg directly they said they would be offering their 9" by the end of the month without their upper.

I like the .300BLK, but I already don't like paying 30 cents for .223. I don't want to spend more for ammo.

Either change the barrel or get an additional upper.

DS Arms has uppers for $320. Then there are high-end ones from AAC and Noveske.
