    Wanta know a secret?

    Walmart 3-5am.
Nobody there but the real nut jobs in pajamas..... and me. They're cleaning and stocking so it's still hit and miss but no lines. I just put my mean face on and people leave me alone.

Good plan, EXCEPT that Walmart just announced that until further notice, they will ONLY be open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. They will cram their normal 24hour crowd into just 17 hours.

    How is the shopping today?

Inwent out for breakfast with my wife this morning. Afterwards we thought we’d stop by kroger to see what’s up. 7:30 am on a Saturday, and the parking lot was packed. Went inside, the checkout line was almost to the door. They had just two lanes open. They had an army of workers stocking shelves. We said **** that and left.

Went to target. Not terribly crowded. Had what we needed.

Lots of changes in our parish. No shaking hands during the offering of the sign of peace, no hugging, holy water fonts empty (we can take some home, of course), no common chalice, encouraged to receive Holy Communion in the hand rather than on the tongue... all wise, and temporary measures to be reviewed prior to Easter Sunday. We were also advised not to attend Mass if feeling ill—to participate in a televised Mass, instead.

So who is planning on going to church tomorrow?

The service I normally go to generally runs at least 500+. I'm still planning to attend.

But will anyone else be there? Many churches in that size and larger are not supposed to get together per the governor.

We are open because we are typically around 100-150. And we are leveraging Facebook live HEAVILY. So heavily I normally run Proclaim AND Facebook Live because typically FB LIve is mostly hands off. I anticipate enough demand that I want to monitor it constantly live so I can tweak any audio issues. After looking at the video from last week, I just discovered that we are having problems with audio and it is hard to adjust when you are trying to do other things. Normally its 3-5 people watching so Im not that worried. I would expect dozens to watch tomorrow so I want to get it right.

Small Lutheran congregation, we are going. Spoke with Pastor this morning and agreed that Church should always be open for people. And yes, I will be drinking from the Common Cup at Communion.

Eww! Just eww. Even in healthy times thats gross.

Then again intinction kinda grosses me out. Our Methodist church used to do that. Then last winter due to cold and flu season we went to disposable shot cups. We havent switched back and now probably never will.

A little while back a visitor (must have been Lutheran or Catholic) walked up, got his bread, and even though everyone else was dipping, he grabbed the cup and took a swig. Shocked the hell outta the communion steward and pastor. :): Totally clueless.

Now I guess if you guys used Everclear 190 dyed red it would be OK...

I suspect attendance will be down but still be pretty crowded. They do have auxiliary rooms and may split folks up and ask some to watch on a monitor rather than filling the full auditorium to keep total groups down. They hold a total of five Sunday services. I suspect some people might attend one of the afternoon services rather then the 10 am or 11:30 am service thinking it will be less crowded.

Last week they didn't hand out programs. No high-five greetings, but a recommended "sup" to your neighbor. They didn't pass out collection buckets but asked us to drop offerings in a bucket on the way out or give electronically.

Today they held a day of service in the parking lots of three local schools to pass out food to families worried about kids not having enough to while they are out of school. As our pastor says, "we aren't a church club or just a group of people who go to church. We are the church."

    Well that figures.
I'm all done anyway. Just done topped a few things off while I still had some money.

I wish I had access to their cameras so I could watch the show.

We’ve discovered that you can’t listen to the bus send, you have to listen to the feed on the computer end to get the mix right. When we first started it was just FB live and people would comment giving feedback that we had no idea about. There might not be many listening but they certainly do appreciate it.

In the Faith of Brad you only need to fund the church!

Yea only need to pray to be healed and maybe benefit from some of my CBD oil in order to find salvation!
