At least Cuba knows when to throw in the towel and admit they were wrong about big government. Dems and reps are too stupid to know when they need downsizing. The downside to their new austerity measures is that there's no safety net (of private businesses and industry) to help the people that are going to be impacted by this. Cuba's in for a rough time, but at least they've learned.

I think that once we go thru the cycle of socialized everything as has done, Cuba, Viet Nam et al that we too shall realize big government isn't the answer. Our next revolution will take us to where cuba was 60 years ago. Hopefully having tasted freedom it won't take us 60 years to get it back!

When I say "we" I speak of the unfortunate noisy minority that wants everything handed to them.

Yes he did. The fact is, Cuba has already taxed everything it can and nationalized everything it can. Finally after all economic support from other Commie nations has dried up, they're realizing what the Plymouth Rock colonists discovered after their first year in America; socialism doesn't work. In fact, it doesn't work every time it's tried.
