This should probably make you angry. I checked my mailbox this morning and got a SECOND pink card. I didn't order a duplicate, just showed up.

Doesn't make sense. Many people are getting theirs within a couple of weeks. People who got their local approval 3 weeks after I got mine already got their licenses approved and mine is still pending. Starting to wonder if I should call them, but the website does say "within 60 days." Does it make a difference that mine is a lifetime license?

That makes no difference. Anything in your past that might be tripping it up ? An arrest maybe ?

One arrest from a license that I didn't know had been suspended from a front license plate ticket that I had paid that got sent back (clerical error) but lost in the mail. All it took was $10 processing fee and a letter to a judge and the license was reinstated within a week. That's the only thing that I have, but I can't imagine why that would hold anything up. It wasn't a felony or anything. Didn't prevent me from getting a FOID card in Illinois or buying three handguns.

If you have been arrested, for anything, the state has to contact the county where it happened to find the outcome of the case. It doesn't matter how minor or how long ago. I am in the same boat as you.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I have to wait on that to finish up then. At least I have a reason. Knowing is better than just being in the dark wondering where my license is.

I'm not sure how much of a difference there is from a 'change of address' and initial application but it took about 6 weeks to receive my new copy after I submitted my change of address form and send a money order for $20. I must say I am very impressed with the new cards though! The old ones you had to immediately take to get laminated because they were nothing more than a piece of paper but the new cards are a quality plastic, nearly as thick as a credit card. Pretty big improvement I must say.

A year ago you were looking at 6 months. Hopefully they have improved that.

I just received my new license only 2 weeks after completing all the required paperwork, fees and fingerprints. Very happy with the speed of the process.

My wife submitted her online application on Monday (12/1), and has her fingerprinting scheduled for next week (12/11) in Brownsburg. I'll take her straight to the Plainfield PD from there, and then will report on how long her wait is.

Okay, she got her Larry today!

    12/1 - application submitted electronically
12/11 - fingerprints and application submitted to Plainfield PD
    12/17 - application approved
12/22 - Larry arrived in the mail

    That was... fast!

    My turn:
    12/22/2014 - License ordered/paid for
    12/22/2014 - L1's done
    12/23/2014 - Local paid/approved
    12/23/2014 - Pending ISP approval

Lebowki's record may be in jeopardy. As of 12/24/2014, I have been approved by the ISP. Tomorrow, I will leave home to go visit family. I'm hoping we return on Sunday and my pink slip is in the mail.
