The total number of days between Friday, March 10th, 2017 and Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 is 54 days.

This is equal to 1 month and 23 days.

This does not include the end date, so it's accurate if you're measuring your age in days, or the total days between the start and end date. But if you want the duration of an event that includes both the starting date and the ending date, then it would actually be 55 days.

If you're counting workdays or weekends, there are 38 weekdays and 16 weekend days.

If you include the end date of May 3, 2017 which is a Wednesday, then there would be 39 weekdays and 16 weekend days including both the starting Friday and the ending Wednesday.

54 days is equal to 7 weeks and 5 days.

I have an extremely common name & not the cleanest record but clean enough to qualify obviously. I was expecting a long wait as in the past I've experienced a 16 day delay on a 4473 from a "Proceed only" FFL but I'm very pleased with my LTCH wait time.

To add to the stats . . .

    1. 04/28/2017 (Friday) Filed app, paid state fees and set fingerprint appointment for following Monday.
    2. 05/01/2017 (Monday) Fingerprints and paid local fees; my city PD is a fingerprint location and is currently taking over a week after fingerprinting.
    3. 05/10/2017 (Wednesday) City PD approved, forwarded to ISP, and pending ISP approval same day.
    4. 05/11/2017 (Thursday) Approved by ISP with permit number issued.

As I understand it, all I'm waiting on now is for the plastic card to be made and mailed to me. If so, should have it between Monday and Wednesday this next week. This was much faster than I had anticipated. Longest time was background check backlog at local city PD.

    Update:
    5. 05/16/2017 (Tuesday) Received Handgun Carry License in mail.

18 calendar days start to finish with four days of that consumed by weekends, and half of it consumed by the city PD background check. ISP processing was very fast with 5 calendar days from approval to arrival in my mailbox, including a 2-day weekend.

i filed 4/23, got approved 5/15, still waiting on the pony express to drop off. i took three extra day to pay my local fees due to work. pretty fast process for the lifetime permit really. Dont see why it cant be done in a day or two or three, is it not similiar to the same process that you go through to buy a gun?

I was approved within one hour of paying my local fees. Just waiting on my card! I'm so excited that I can officially start carry gun shopping.

It's more extensive. It appears my local police have their own team do a local background with the local courts and their records, and I'd bet they're running the information across NCIC and III, in addition to the NICS a 4473 is run across for a firearm purchase. Fingerprints are undoubtedly run to see if they turn up any matches. Unfortunately, some things like protective orders don't necessarily get entered into NICS immediately because of bureaucratic processing time and backlogs. Sheer speculation, but some of this may be a deliberate wait for a week or so to see if anything does pop up that was in process when the application was made. It wouldn't surprise me if someone dashed out and applied for a LTCH minutes after a court order was issued that would prevent a LTCH being issued, or revoke a current one, to try to get a LTCH before it's processed.

The lifetime is to be discontinued after 2017.

And where did you see this? I very sincerely hope it was not someone at your LGS. Even local PD and Sheriff personnel have launched these rumors! What act of the state legislature this year has done away with it as that's the only way it can be discontinued.

    These are the 2017 Indiana LTCH statutes (Indiana Code 35, Article 47, Chapter 2, Section 3) . . .
Indiana Code 2017 - Indiana General Assembly, 2017 Session

If there was such a change, it should be reflected there, and I don't see it! Regarding lifetime LTCH, it's all business as usual. Bills have been introduced in the legislature in the past that would do away with the LTCH and permit carry on public colleges and universities (those are the only ones they control), and in state government offices. The ones I'm aware of were introduced last year, and died in the legislature. None of those have been passed by the legislature and signed into law.

If there's something not reflected in the 2017 Indiana Code online, please direct us to it.

    He's being funny (starcom).
    Purple denotes sarcasm.
It's a never ending story that someone asks and says they heard the lifetime is going away.
