My local pd approved immediately, still waiting on ISP approval though. Its only been 3 weeks though so not to tuned up over it..

I shouldn't be delayed at all never been in any sort of trouble other than minor traffic offenses and never outside of St Joe County of course it is Democrat controlled South Bend probably a directive from our fine fine mayor

right at 30 days for me, approved 10/3/17. now its just the waiting game for the mail.

I started my process on the 28th of September here it is now October 9th, granted this is a federal holiday so we shall see if my permit comes in the mail tomorrow.. I only did the 4 year because I am not sure if I am staying in Indiana any longer after this year or next.

Time frame:

Sept. 28: Purchased handgun from ZX Gun in Goshen Indiana.
Sept. 29: fingerprints submitted
Oct 2: Fingerprints approved sent to local police agency
Oct 3: Visit to St Joseph Sheriffs Department
Oct 4: Approval by ISP
Oct 9: Still waiting for permit in mailbox

Welp. Took long enough. Started the process on 8-17 and just got approved by isp yesterday.

I have about the same time frame only did mine in the 11th month got approved 11/29/17 now waiting on the card in the mail. Total days so far 12. "First license"

For some reason mine still tells me I need to go pay my local fees and it's pending local approval, but I've paid my local fees already. Just have to be patient it's only been 16 days since starting the process.

I'd recommend you call the PD that you visited.
I had the exact same message on my wait, and it turned out to be some mysterious glitch of something not going to Indiana State Police from my local PD.
A simple phone call from me got the process finished.

I just received my LCTH today. It took 20 days start to finish. This is a new permit, not a renewal. My son received his permit in November. It took 14 days.
