Guy I used to work with made a Contender bbl from a 513T.
Problem is............he chambered it pretty short.
Dunno what ammo he was using..........but reg .22 lr sits up against the rifling, spacing the rim back just enough to cause misfires.

I need the match chamber lengthened just a smidge.

Could run longs and not long rifles............but think I'd like to run reg .22 HV in it.
And have it go bang every time LOL.

Ol' Fred is gone. Kinda like to take his rifle out and pop pineys.

Would like to maintain match aspect of the thing, maybe move my 4-12X Leupold onto it.

Rim back should not cause misfires. What kinda ammo r u using? Remington golden bullets?

When you close the contender on that shell it should engage the rifling. It would make it difficult to unload without firing it but should be good for accuracy.

The cheapest route may be to rent a 22lr match reamer and find someone with a lathe and just hand turn the barrel to open up the throat a little bit. Shipping it to have the work done would probably not be worth it.

If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, look up Mike Bellm at bellmtcs.com. The man has forgot more about making accurate Thompson Centers than most other gunsmiths will ever know.

He won't work on anything other than T/C or Bergara factory barrels. He is also pretty backed up, unless you want a 357 Max, then you go to the front of the line for being so smart.
