    Yes, there may be two.
I talked to one of them, two shows ago, seems like a very nice product. The guy I talked to did this as a side to his hearing aid business, and seemed to be very knowledgable.
    Sorry, don't remember his name.

Also, the Meijer store in Greenwood now has an Audiologist booth / Audiologist working there. It's immediately adjacent to the pharmacy.

They will do custom molded ear plugs - but they're not inexpensive through them (Like $120 or so, I think, for just plain ol' plugs) I'd imagine that part of that is that you're paying for an "expert" to do it rather than some dude at a gun show.

The ones I saw at the 1500 were actually pretty nice. They have a very small hole in them, kind of like the tubes put in children's ears, that allow regular noise through (like conversation) but block out gunshots. Right around $100 iirc, with a discount for vendors.

They are based out of Bainbridge. I have a set and they work very well. The last few shows I've been to they will do the latex form there then send it back to the "office" for final forming. They come with a small plastic case to store them in. They then ship them to your door at no added cost. The ear pieces have a filter in the small hole that helps a lot. Well worth the $100 or so.

I have a set of SureFire EarPro Sonic 3 plugs that I bought for less than $15 bucks. They rock! You can have a conversation with them in but they block out all the pistol and rifle noise while shooting. I highly recommend them.

Shooters Ear, they are pretty decent plugs. The only gun I have found even slightly anoying with them in is an AK. They were working on a newer version last time I saw them at a show though. Mine may be an old design by now.

I have 2 pair of shooters ears. They are great for outdoor shooting, but not for indoor ranges. They are comfortable and you can hear a conversation with them in you ear.

I got them both at the Indy 1500

Note about my above-mentioned Meijer customs:

dB reduction is still only about ~23. If I'm going to pay that much money, I want appreciably more reduction over inexpensive "squeezies" that are $20 / 500.

Even the fancy schmancy electronic earmuffs going for $100+ still don't reduce like I want.

So, I continue to wear squeezies under my ear muffs. At only 35 years old - I hopefully have a lot of living to do. I need my hearing to last a LONG time!

Solid ShootersEars have over a 40 dB noise reduction at the key frequencies ( 2k to 4k Hz ) that shooters damage their hearing at, the ShootersEars with the soundbores (the ones that let you hear better) are rated at 36dB of noise reduction from 2 - 4k Hz.

and they are not produced by "some guy at a gun show". They are produced by a FDA registered hearing aid & ear mold lab with over 30 years of experience and by a "guy" that has taken thousands of ear impressions over 20 years as a licensed hearing instrument specialist.

I also got a pair from these folks (Shooter's Ears) - I have been very happy with them. I'd highly recommend them to anyone considering a pair of custom molded plugs.

Unless they've changed locations, they will be located in the section on the left as you come in from the entrance. As you walk in, look high & to the left for a blue banner (the rest are red). Walk in under the blue banner, they are to your immediate left.

sorry to dig up an old thread, but a search brought this up and I figured it'd be better than starting a new thread....

Anyway...does anybody have current info on this? I tried the provided link, but comes up to nothing....hoping there is someone at the next 1500 that can do this!

When at the Parabellum open house in Avon, I talked to a guy that makes custom ear plugs. I have no idea has how well they work.

This is the guy you want. He is at this show, I talked to him today. I've used custom molded plugs since 1998. Same pair. They eliminate the problem of ear muffs and cheek weld.
