Recoil was less than expected for a 1.6 lb .45, very comfortable and little muzzle jump. I ran through 150 rounds of WWB and Federal 230 gr with zero failures. The night sights make it easy to stay on target. I also fired some Hornady critical defense 185 gr with no difference in accuracy. It is on the money out to 25 yards with some very nice 2" groups freehand shooting. I wish I had brought a rest to see what it was really capable off shooting. Overall, I am extremely pleased and after a few more boxes it will no doubt become an EDC. Dan Wesson has honored Mr Browning nicely by making a very good model 1911.

I think the model 1911 just might catch on, after a 100 years it is more than a fad. I can't wait to see what they do for the 1911 bicentennial.:rockwoot:

The high and right was obviously my fault (yeah, I suck).

Ummmmm.....the pic. is not of a bobtail DW is it?
My bad. I just always thought a bobtailed frame had the mainspring cut back.

That's what I thought too but I looked on their website and that's what they call it. They have other guns that are true Bobtails but this one just looks like the MSH is slightly rounded off. :dunno:

I thought the same thing. It's not as "bob'd" as a normal bobtail but after one look, I had to have one. Dan Wesson has been on my long list for a long time. After I shot this I may have to put a Valor back on my list.
