from a thread on 1911forum:
"From Keith Lawton; VP of Operations.
Yes, the Vigil series is being discontinued....
Latest offerings will be:
Guardian, ECP and TCP are it.
Keith Lawton"
Yep. They have a history of doing that. I'm fortunate enough to currently own a Valkyrie and a Vigil CCO.DW has been dropping models like prom dresses at the end of the night. It's a shame
The Vigil was their last 'affordable' handgun. When the Valors first came out they were great deals for what you got. Now with the MSRP's all creeping towards 2K and most well over 1500.00 if I was looking for a higher end 1911 i'd probably just skip over DW. The 11-1300.00 price point was their niche. From a recent arfcom discussion:
"The Vigil's pricing never made sense when compared to the rest of their line. An aluminum frame does not make a 1911 $400 cheaper (semi-custom builders charge MORE for aluminum). DW charged more for the duty coat then they put the duty coat on their [Vigil]. I think someone at DW realized they were selling the Vigil too cheap and decided to discontinue it."
