More ridiculousness from the Great White North. This poor guy found himself arrested and strip searched because his daughter drew a picture of a gun in class. Sad thing is that, when I first read the story, I thought it was from the West Coast or one of the Eastern states. It could just as easily happen there. Or here, given the right circumstances.

I'm not surprised. I don't know it for a fact, but always heard it was tough to own a handgun in Canada.

I could see it happening. Kid draws a picture of a handgun, says it's daddy's and the cops are called.

The title sounded like she PULLED a gun... Very different now that I know she drew a PICTURE of a gun. Damn I used to draw guns all the time. Now kids are getting suspended/expelled for have toy Lego guns that are an inch long.

Well, at least in Indiana, you can't be arrested for "possession of a handgun".... especially if you don't even have a handgun in your possession. That is seriously messed up, and I hope he gets a good attorney. He certainly should have got one much earlier in this whole ordeal (like before saying a word).

Oh, wait, this was in Canada. Nevermind. Totally different system up there.

I don't know what I can possibly add, after reading that I feel, sad:(

They arrested him for contraband, with the only evidence being his
4 year old daughter. Didn't inform him why he was being arrested, and
apparently asked permission to search his home after the fact.

    :patriot:I love the USA.

After he was released, Sansone was asked to sign a paper authorizing a search of his home. He signed, even though he didn’t have to, he said.

“I just think they blew it out of proportion,’’ Squires said. “It was for absolutely nothing. They searched our house upside down and found nothing. They had the assumption he owned a firearm.

This just makes my skin crawl.

I am so glad I went to school before political correctness. For an art class, the teacher told us to draw a perspective of any inanimate object. I drew a great Thompson machine gun, and got an A for it.

So if drawing a gun means the girl's family had a gun in the house, then when I was in school and drew KISS, AC/DC etc logos, did that mean I had a hard rock band in my house?

    Makes about as much sense..

Really though it ain't much of a stretch sometimes I know that they frown on my boy having anything gun related at school ie: a gun on his shirt or any kind of toy that resembles a gun was a big no no for halloween (ooops Fall Celebration) party that blew my mind. Seriously my county is predominatly rednecks and no guns for dress up? .... just saying.
