I had a thought the other day. Given the extent that people are fed up with the democratic party and all of the stuff they've done over the past 18 months and the expected beating that they're going to take in November, could this be the beginning of the end of the democratic party? If the November elections turn out the way they're predicting, who would vote them back in to where they hold a majority? Just a thought. :)

Not so long as there exists a class of people who believe that they can vote themselves benefits. As long as we have a moocher class we will have politicians willing to pander to them.

    Two things;
    1) There are some really weird people out there who cannot understand normal thinking...
    2) I am sure the Republicans, if they do manage to lock up the majority, will once again fail to learn a thing from why the Dems got the boot. So once again the Dems will get new life shoved into the worthless excuse of a party that they currently are...

A very few Empires across history have not had a moocher class...
Even the mighty Romans had this affliction...

You are correct. I feel like we are living in a new age of bread and circuses. Only instead of gladiator shows and free loaves for the masses we have Obamacare and Cash for Clunkers.

I think the modern version of a Gladiator is the Professional Athlete though...

It saddens me that the Majority of Americans care more about sports than the State of the Nation, Politics, or the Laws being passed and broken...

Um, The Democratic Party died....ALONG TIME AGO..... It was infiltrated by a perverse group of individuals who seek to implement the policies of Elitism have promoted they're filthy socialist beliefs here.

The GOP, for it's traditonal values, held out longer, but soon took the same exact plunge.

Are you kidding? The majority of obama's supporters think he's failing because we aren't getting more of his policies quicker than we already are. They believe stimulus, etc isn't working because it wasn't enough.

I've been a maintenance worker for over 4 years now and I've fixed a lot of things but I've learned you can't fix stupid. A toothpick in the hands of stupid will break an anvil. A ballot is a much more powerful tool than a toothpick.

I believe this quote sums up what has become the Democrat party pretty well.

"Never Underestimate the Power of Stupid People in Large Groups."

    1. Dont count your chickens before they hatch.

    2. Every few years the supporters of one party says this about the other.... Hell, I remember in 2002 Republicans talking about the end of the Democratic party (Uh.... They came back in a big way 4 years later)... And two years ago Democrats were saying the same about Republicans (and right now it looks like Republicans will hold one if not both houses of Congress come January).

Parties dont die in America. Because the parties are made up of PEOPLE.... And people are flawed.... When people get power, they naturally tend to abuse it.

So the electorate kicks their party in the balls for it, and gives the power to the other party.

its not gonna matter whether or not the dem party dies unless someone gives the rep party cpr.

WONT happen. Look around, people adopt NeoConism(Trotskism = Socialist), willingly, and abit blindly.

Which is why I try to tell people, Pat Buchanan, and those of his liking are the ONLY way, America will regain it's foundation, sacredity and soul.

Democratic party died from desease, an infection from Progressives, this disease is slowly infecting the Republican party as well. The Tea Party an Americans that believe in the Republic are trying to stop its deadly spread across America.

Progressives = Putting Government First, God Last. The belief that our rights come from the government, not from God. The religion that the Constitution is outdated an needs to be replaced at whatever cost.

The dems will only fail if the republicans or other party fails to put up someone worth voting for. There are enough people out there who will vote democrat no matter how it affects the country because they are living off the government. Unless another party puts someone up that really stirs the soul of the non-voting silent majority, the dems might just surprise people by their ability to weather the storm.

Beware the words "Progressive" and "Federalist"

The TEA party movement has sparked a wave of "Founderism" in politics, and the GOP is doing its best to capture that spirit. I'm noticing that the GOP is throwing around the words "Federalist" and "Federalism" right now - like bean bags at corn-hole tournament.

Stop and think about those terms. "Progressivism" is the flat out taking of liberty from individuals and giving that power to an oppressive federal government.

    Federalism isn't any better.

In 1787, "Federalist" - eg the federalist papers by Hamilton, Madison and Jay - was a movement to slightly increase the power of the federal govt from a very broken system under our old Articles of Confederation - to a slightly more centralized Federal govt under the newly crafted Constitution. The Bill of Rights was pushed by many in order to limit the federalism in the constitution for fear of going exactly where we are today with an overbearing federal bureaucracy.

Today's federalists have grown out of a power grab back in the 1860s - when Lincoln used the civil war to grab even greater power for the federal govt.

Since then, Progressive and Federalist have been dragging us toward the same place - just at different rates.

So, to the original question... what does it matter if one party drops off? The other one is taking us to the same place. They just pay more lip service to the religious side of the populace. I haven't seen any indication that they actually protect individual liberty and the original ideals exemplified in the Constitution.

Tea party is proven to be a victim of the Necon crooks who destroyed the GOP, worked along side Socialist/Communist democrats.

Tea Party had an ideal, and still can become influencitial, but we must shun, shame and run out of town those who profess any sign of supporting NeoConism.

The Left will collapse in on itself IF WE DO THAT.

    My 2 Cents

I don't even like to classify myself as a republican anymore. Career politicians, especially those in the dreaded Democrap party, are only out for themselves. There should be term limits and all "parties" should be thrown aside. It's too bad that many decent people that would like to represent their state or district are too turned off by the prospect that their backgrounds will be thoroughly searched for whether or not they inhaled or the one time they got a citation for parking in a handicap zone. Suddenly they can be considered outcasts in their neighborhoods or churches because the media portrayed them as "drug addicts" or "insensitive to those with a physical handicap". I heard a great definition on the difference between conservatives and liberals once. Conservatives are those that feel they are accountable for their own lives and accept responsibility for whether or not they can put food on the table. Liberals are those that feel there is a need for a governing body to intervene and make sure they are provided for. If you think about it, what a sickening way to live your life - to believe that you should have no control and that "big brother" should take care of you. So, to segway back to the post topic, yes, Democrats should go away, but it won't happen. There are too many people that believe the government owes them something. The disconnect is that they don't understand (because, if they are on welfare) they don't pay taxes and simply don't understand that the government is funded by Joe Schmoe's like me and you. (sorry for the rant, you hit a hot button). Cheers.
