I have a buddy who lives in Indy looking for a Hi-power.
A good clones would be fine.
Anyone know of any for sale at a GS in or around Indy?
I don't get up that way often to give any advice to him on where to look.
    $500-$600 Is his price range.

    Thanks,
    Johnny C

IAMMO - I think they are in Kentucky - is peddling used High Powers and clones. Check them out online.

The two at Beech Grove are priced at $650 and $725. If your friend is willing to shop around for a while, he can find one in that price range. It just might take a while. I was looking around for about a year and ended up finding a used Mark III in good condition for $560 at Fort Liberty in Avon.

Costner's in Bedford has several for sale. One is a FEG clone at $499, one is a used MKII at $750 and there is a FM (Argentine licensed model) for $400. The others are all higher and newer.

Ouch $499 for a fake Hi-Power, that's Costner's for ya. They can be had for way less than that.

The FEG's keep going up. I bought two of them back in the 90's for $199 NIB! That isn't a bad price on the Argentine though...last one of those I bought around 2004 was $300. They are a quality gun but the finish is usually some kind of paint.....

Yep, his prices are insane sometimes. He has some nice stuff to look at, but his pricing is ridiculous. I think he preys on people who don't know any better or lack access to the internet. ;)

FEG's are a good alternative if cost is a factor in selecting a Hi-Power. Especially a used one. Like most AR-15's, the basic difference is in the finish. They are all the exact same design inside. Any good used FEG given reasonably good care, will still be going bang after everyone on this thread is dead and buried. If the finish is bad you can always have it redone when the extra cash is available. I've seen some really nice ones that were redone with new grips. Grab a few spare Mec-Gar 15 round mags to go with it, and you'll be all set. Most used Browning Hi-Powers are overpriced. If you're heart is set on Browning, go new.

I havent seen any north of Indy for a while. The last FEG I saw was around $300, in good shape, and that was just last summer. I picked my Belgian Hi-Power up at the Tipton gun show a few years back for $600 out the door, in near new condition. I couldn't get my money out fast enough when the guy shot me that price. Buying a new one will run ya >1K, so its almost a guarantee that it will be a rode hard Browning, or an FEG to get in that price range. Good luck in the search.

The last time I was at Indiana Gun Club they had 3 HP's, the least expensive was $900. Not saying that price is reasonable but, good luck and a Browning at that price point. But put in the time, you might.
