I am just about decided that I would like to purchase a Daniel Defense SBR to go along with my DDM4 V11 rifle. I missed the deadline - so will have to do it the new way. I am ok with that.
My dilemma is one of calibers. I was initially leaning 5.56 - for the sake of familiarity and consolidation of ammo. Also the cost of the ammo for training. Seems like it might be easier to just stay with the 5.56 and be able to share ammo between rifles.
That being said - have also been considering the 300 blackout version also. My other two rifles are both 5.56. Do I really need something with more oomph? Am I crazy to stay with 5.56 and call it a day? What I want to avoid is spending a couple of thousand on the SBR and possibly a suppressor along with the stamps and then wish I would have bought the other caliber.
I have been on a bit of a buying spree over the last few months - so I can't buy both or I will have to deal with she who must be obeyed and possibly find myself banished to the couch for perpetuity.
My intention of the SBR is home defense/training and some range fun. I have a Trijicon MRO that would be mounted on it and I would probably like to add a suppressor to it as well.
I am a complete novice when it comes to these types. Was hoping for opinions, comments, advice and all posts are welcome.
