Got up early and was on site by 7 AM. About 8 AM, 3 does and 4 yearlings ran past at about 40 yards. Never even slowed down, so no possible clean shot. They approached from downwind. Our youngest saw the same thing during youth weekend, but only 1 doe and 2 yearlings, in the same place at about the same time. Found the trail they are using, so I have a pretty good idea where to set up for next time (depending on wind direction).

    Still no rubs or scrapes.

It is pretty early for serious scrape activity but you can always make your own scrapes instead of waiting for the bucks to cooperate.

I helped my dad hang a couple of stands yesterday. One flat is tore up with rubs and scrapes. My buddy that hints with me saw a shooter but he never got i not range. Later he had two young bucks spar in front of him then bed down directly under the stand. I am planning on getting out this weekend.

    Got my Cutthroats razor sharp.
Used a Work Sharp "Field Sharpener".
Didn't take long, was about there w my reg stuff.
    Didn't have a leather strop.
    The Field Sharpener has one.

Wash clothes tomorrow, maybe hunt this weekend.
Still kinda feel a little off.

Ground blind might be best until you're 100%. Don't fall down, Hook.

I checked a couple stands. Theyre good to go.
Did not put my other one up.
Lots of crap down in the woods, had to climb/step over.
    Wore me out.
    Still not 100%.
Found a doe bedded, but couldn't get closer than 30 yards.
Wouldn't have tried that w a compound, let alone a recurve.
    Too green/thick.

Got the shooting lanes and elevated blind in shape last month. I went out Saturday afternoon till dark. Saw 3 does, 2 were at 15 yards.

Does and young bucks on the cameras.

Mainly looking for a doe anyway. A buck will have to be huge to tempt me.

Is it legal to use laser sight on a crossbow? Like the green dot that actually puts a dot on the deer so no need for scope or sights? I read they were legal for Indiana but was dated from about 10 years ago and found nothing on the IDNR website about it.
