Just passing this on to you all. I am from this ****hole town in Illinois and what the local prosecutor is doing to this guy is horrible. First you need to visit this website Richland | Disclosure News Online and read the story. This guy was attacked by a group of wanna be MMA types and he was forced to use a handgun to defend himself. Now they are pinning a murder one charge along with other lesser charges. A petition drive has been started at change.org that will be sent to the governor of Illinois. If you would, read the story of what went down and please sign the petition supporting this young man. Thanks for reading.

Exactly. You have to read more of the story on the Disclosure website. Apparently this gang of "youths" have been emboldened by their status as narcs for the local law enforcement. I mean, come on, they have had over 10 felonies dismissed against them in the last 5 years and various assaults that the local sheriff declined to investigate. If something smells like **** it usually turns out being ****.

The state of Illinois is a stinking cesspool of socialism.

I'm aware of the Earps. I lived in Clay City for a while as a kid. When I was at my dad's in CC we would drive to Olney on the weekends, and I've seen the 2 of them a few times. Michael I'd seen in a few fights, and never seemed like the kind of guy you'd want to make friends with.

Thanks for reading. I visit Illinois just about every weekend. You have no idea how screwed up these people are when it comes to gun ownership. It has been ingrained in them over the last few decades that owning and shooting a firearm outside the normal hunting pieces is like really owning and enjoying really kinky Swedish porn. You keep it on the downlow as certain "experts" will tell you that you are breaking the law. And lets not forget the local sheriffs that just kinda make up the laws as they go along. Confiscating firearms without cause thus forcing the owners to spend money on court costs and attorney fees to get their firearm back before the sheriff sells it.

I grew up in Olney but moved aware nearly 30 years ago. Clay City is an alright town. The local pub there has great steaks and prime rib. I was the ring bearer for the 1969 Clay City homecoming court. I go to the racetrack over at Flora as my cousin's kid and a few old cronies race there. I've heard some stories of these guys behavior over the last few years from some of the victims. The common thread is that they tend to hunt in packs and love the 2-1 or better odds when it comes to fights. And the smaller the better.

Wow, sounds like some serious injustice going on in Illannoy. I feel bad for Mr. Jenkins. From all that I've read he absolutely did the right thing. It is extremely unfortunate, though, that he didn't get some well placed lead into the other two thugs.

Makes me sick. I fear the day when this BS spreads to other states. Just hope good ole crossroads of America is left standing to take the fight against this twisted set of beliefs.

That appears to be the surviving brother. Apparently in Illinois you can get pulled over multiple times for no license or insurance. Sometimes within weeks of each occurrence. The laws are purely of no consequence.
Seriously, this guy was popped for the same thing just a couple of months ago. Hell, in Missouri they confiscate your car on the first offense of having no insurance. Total bull****. Now, if I were found guilty of the same thing it would stick because I have a job and the county can realize revenue from this so, of course, there would be fines. Lots of fines. There is absolutely no oversite of any kind of these prosecutors or judges. They make up and interpret the law as it suits them.

Jury selection started yesterday. Disclosure News is giving some great coverage.
    Here is an example:
Prospective juror: "I'm not gonna convict someone for carrying a gun."
Judge Dunn: "That's okay sir, I'm not a legislator making the law, I'm just here to tell you what the law IS."
Prospective Juror: "I don't care what you're telling me, we have a Constitutional right to carry a gun in this country, and I'm not gonna convict someone for doing it."
Maybe there is hope for Illinois yet.

    Three other developments:
    1. The brother of the slain thug was arrested for threatening one of the witnesses.
    2. The judge has forbidden any potential witnesses from attending the jury selection.
    3. Several of the potential jurors are begging off as they feel like they would be targeted for retaliation if a verdict was returned that the Earp clan did not like. WTF is the deal in that place? Are there no grown ups in the local government?
