DP101 begins with a classroom lecture about holsters, mindset, ammo, types of guns, and a host of topics related to carry a gun for self defense. The course moves to the range after lunch and covers topics from the grip of the gun to the draw stroke and trigger control, to movement and threat scans. The range work includes many drills and concludes with the ten round final exam that incorporates everything covered during the day.
Round count varies greatly and could range from 350 rounds upward depending upon the shooter. Many drills call for 1-5 shots and that is up to the shooter.
DP201 which is the next level is all on the range and involved more rounds. 600 is the ballpark.
