That’s not the right question. There is nearly zero likelihood that healthcare will become effectively more open market than it is now. In terms of healthcare as a motivator for voting, the least worst option is not to go any further towards socialized healthcare. And even with Trump that one may not be on the table.

On the republican side unless Trump is primaried successfully by an actual free market capitalist, we’ll likely have to settle for the crony capitalist/status quo—if we’re lucky. If we’re unlucky, and the Democrats figute out how to socially engineer Trump, well, he could make things worse.

So the right question is, rank-order least worst. The answer to that question has all the dems tied for last place.

I have often thought it is really strange how fanatical the Dems are in their hatred of Trump instead of simply trying to woo him to their side. My biggest fear is that they would win back Congress and suddenly realize how easily they could work with him to get what they want.

From the article: "But until then, we’ll be in the trenches fighting for what Ocrazyo-Cortez called the “minimum elements necessary to lead a dignified American life”".

We already have those minimum elements. They're called "jobs". Real jobs... not the kind that your degree in "(insert worthless subject matter here) studies" qualifies you for. And who creates those jobs? Capitalists and entrepreneurs.

I am thankful that they’re too petty to allow themselves to say one nice word about him. If they really wanted to get more of their own agend accomplished all they’d have to do is praise him constantly, stroking his ego. Probably couldn’t get single payer because that would **** off the cronies. But they could probably get some gun legislation, maybe some higher taxes on the middle class.

It means that; with respect to admitting Trump is the best choice to tackle this particular problem, and if we are to believe the conventional wisdom what is driving interest in democratic Socialism, you dance divinely

No matter if it is single payer or private, someone is going to pay. Even socialists understand this troubling little fact. Given the governments track record of handling anything, I'm skeptical. Plus, single payer will become another crushing expense and honeypot for exploitation. But I will say, big pharma needs to be brought to heel.

Need an example of how Big Pharma wags the dog? Marijuana has been (incorrectly) set as a schedule 1 drug for how long?

Pro medical marijuana proponents have been fighting legalization for how long?

Well, suddenly (purely coincidence I am sure), it has been telegraphed that MJ is expected to be rescheduled by the end of the year. HALLELUJAH, right? (if you are against, work with me...)
Wrong. I'm sure its pure coincidence, but one of the big pharma announced that they have a new MJ based medicine that they are about to release.

I am absolutely sure this has nothing to do with it...

I like that article. It is refreshing in its honestly. I mean, explaining that the ultimate end of the labor movement is socialism.

    Fact check: True.

Following the money gives you a reasonably accurate list of the troublemakers involved, like the playbill in a theater.
But following the stench of corruption is easier, faster and takes you to the heart of the problem.

Or, it could be that they didn't see a significant profit in producing such drugs until it was going to be legal to do so, and are now intending to capitalize on the changed status.

When obama first became president, he went to Chicago to talk to doctors about healthcare reform. He asked for opinions and the first statement made was (paraphrased) What about tort reform? He could not understand why all the doctors boo'd him when he said that wasn't even on the table. Really!

Stop holding doctors to the same standard as God, they are human and as such sometimes make human mistakes. Sure there is real malpractice, but when a doctor saves a life using open heart surgery, don't later sue because the patient got a hangnail! Ok, a little extreme, but I have seen purely lawyer driven suits because the doctor wasn't God and a patient didn't have the expected or hoped for recovery. Sorry, they are human. And their required malpractice insurance is an obscenity. And that cost gets passed along.

Pharma too. They too are held to the God standard. Any drug out the door better be perfect. If a drug that saves a million people hurts just one, that person's family sues the pharma and usually wins enough to destroy all profit and pull a really good drug off the market. No wonder drugs are so expensive in the USA. Sure there is some greed in it, but any drug must pay enough into the legal defense fund because drugs are made by humans, not God.

    Rant off. :)

OR it could be that there was no impetus to reschedule without there being some legitimate use (besides getting lifted)
