That's a legitimate position, relying on perception and personal ethics, rather than fictitious quotes.

No. While his policies certainly got the ball rolling, he had the betterment of the country at heart, whereas this latest breed only wants to destroy everything that has ever been.

The basic systems of government were covered in basic government class, which every high school student had to pass to graduate high school.
Without this basic knowledge, there is no way to change your mind, not that you would change your views even with correct information...

Yeah, I lived with the UK's National Health Service for most of my life. I'd prefer to never have to go through that system again.

As far as the Dem's vying to take on Trump in 2020 I hope that they are all as honest about their positions as they can be.

No. While his policies certainly got the ball rolling, he had the betterment of the country at heart, whereas this latest breed only wants to destroy everything that has ever been.

Do you honestly think that? FDR despite the face he put on for the public, I always believed relished the power of the presidency, and wanted to expand it well beyond where it was.

Maybe you can help me out by listing the tenets of communism and how they are different from the current wish list of the rising stars of the Democrat party. I'm betting you'll find a lot of similarities.

Socialism for one, can work within the framework of an existing government. Communism can not, as it requires all means of production to be in the hands of the proletariat; which while meaning "worker," is actually government in practice.

And neither work very well when dealing with human beings. Never have, and probably never will. All it takes is a small handful of people that aren't satisfied with their station in life and the whole thing goes down the tubes.

I'll give you communism, but not socialism. If what you say is true, concerning socialism, there would be no reason for governments to ever collect taxes, except for military purposes; which some would still argue is a form of socialism. I assume that you can think of things outside of the military that your taxes are well spent?
