It always amazes me how people treat an escalator as a ride. Especially going down. Is it that hard to walk on the escalator and increase your speed going up or down? Unless you are just "handicapped" to walk up and down stairs. Walk up and down the moving stairs don't just ride. BTW walking up and down stairs is good for what most people have as a "handicap".

Back in the day when I was in high school...y back in the late 1900's , one of the scavenger hunt quests we were given to complete as part of a game was to walk the wrong way on an escalator in Glenbrook Square from top to bottom and then bottom to top. There were about 25 tasks to complete, but that was the most fun.
