Looks like the Republican has pulled ahead in the polls in the race for Ted Kennedy's old seat.Wonder if this is forshadowing for the elections in November.

Even as reported by the Boston Herald.....link if you're inclined.

Awaiting Giuliani, Brown supporters welcome surprise surge - BostonHerald.com

Brown is a quite liberal Republican, which makes him an archconservative in Mass. I doubt he can pull it off, but, if he does, then all bets are off for 2010 mid-terms. It would mean a massacre of Democrats is coming in November. In 1994, the fear and loathing of the Democrats was palpable. I fear and loathe the Democrats in 2010, but I don't see it throughout the general public yet.

I have been watching the Brown race very carefully in Mass. I still say he is a longshot. Two oddsmakers who handicap all the congressional races in the nation have moved this race to "toss up" but I believe it is ONLY a toss up IF the turnout at the polls is LOW. The Dems outnumber the GOP members in that state something like 6 to 1 so if there is a SMALL turnout then it would favor Brown. On the other hand, if the turnout is reasonable to large it will be a loss for Brown ... even with party switchers from the Democratic party voting for Brown.

The fact that this race is actually close should scare the living heck out of the LIBERALS. While Brown is NOT in any way a conservative, he is far more conservative than an east coast liberal nutjob. This guy is pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, anti-gun, but he is apparently moderately fiscally conservative and that makes him a good Republican from an ultra-liberal state.

It is interesting to see that he closed the gap after their debate.
During the debate the moderator said "You'd vote dow the healthcare bill? From Teddy Kennedy's seat?" Brown replied "It's Ted Kennedy's seat, it's the people's seat"

Won my respect right there. Maybe woke some people up.

Intersting with Guiliani and Clinton there to rally the troops. Hope the better choice wins.....

EDIT: The news just showed Brown 4 points ahead in a Suffolk poll.

I have heard the same about Brown from a podcast and other outlets I listen to. From all sources, it is quite clear that he is a RHINO, and maybe not even that.

But as previous posters have said, it's Mass, so that's the best you're gonna get. He's been steadfast on being against the health bill, which is what really matters right now.

I think that if he wins, the Dems will slip health care through before he is seated, and that will be the match strike that lights up the fire in the rest of the non-Libs against the Dems.

Now they're saying the president is going there to help out Coakley. They must be getting really worried out there.

Brown isn't great on 2A but nit bad for MA. He is pro CC and ownership BUT he likes a paper trail....

I'm pulling for the guy for the symbolisn and what it may bode for Novemeber. We ARE talking Massachusetts here.

I think a massacre IS coming, mainly because the actions the socialists are taking will continue to make the economy worse, and since all the idiots have bought in to the idea that somehow the government is responsible for the economy (which they are only to the degree they leave it the f**k alone) they'll take their beating. Also, when the useful idiots are coming out against this healthcare theft, it illustrates just how rightfully afraid of this everyone is.

The sad thing is that all the morons (I mean "swing voters") will forget by the next election after, and we'll get another round of irreversible socialism.

When wholesome food compromises with poison, you get food that's only a little bit poisoned. Who's the winner? Poison.

I concur. I was doing a bit of digging on him today during lunch and found the same thing.

Supported concealed carry on a questionairre but at the same time supported a license for gun OWNERSHIP.

I realize this is a firearm forum, but I'd still take him over coakley for sure.

The license for ownership is state law currently. Hoping he may change his view after he's in a higher seat.
