So I am very new to quality knives and I know absolutely nothing about steel qualities, or what is the best this or that, or what blade style is good for (insert purpose) and so on. I have ordered a benchmade saddle mountain skinner for deer season this year. My only purpose for this knife is to field dress and skin wild game. Is this a quality knife that will hold a good edge and serve my purpose? Any input is greatly appreciated.

If it says Benchmade on it and it didn't come in a red box, you should be good to go. They make an excellent product, and are a great company to deal with if a problem ever arises with one of their products.

Benchmade makes good stuff and it should serve you well.

However, why ask about it after you buy it? Wouldn't it make sense to solicit input before you make the purchase?

Many ask for advice when they truly seek validation.

Everybody likes others to make them feel better about a purchase or make them not feel so bad about dropping a bunch of money on something!

A buddy of mine and I call each other all of the time to say well I just bought....
