I just fired off the last of the dirtiest ammo ever.

    "PPU"

I never seen so much smoke or dirt exiting the barrel.
When I clean my weapon. The patches are the blackest.
Also the paper showed that a lot of the bullets tumbled at 20 yards.
The holes were oval and not round like other Manufactures.

I'm curious to know what caliber it was and how old it was. I've shot a lot of Prvi Partizan in many different calibers and have never had that issue. I actually prefer it over the generic US made brands.

    Did them go Bang?

I tried some sub 300blk reloads with 1680 powder, that thing is nasty.

But, I really don't care about my guns getting dirty. They are made to be.

That is VERY unusual. What caliber were you shooting and are you sure it wasn't someone's crappy reloads using PPU brass? I have shot many calibers of PPU and my experience has been exactly the opposite. Their 7.63 Mauser ammo shot wonderfully in an original 1896 Broomhandle - clean, accurate, very consistent (and big!) muzzle flash - better than current Fiocchi or old (long discontinued) stuff by Remington and Western.

Maybe they were reloads you bought from someone shady?
Buy them at a Gun Show? :dunno:

I've never had any issues with store bought PPU, nor heard of any issues.

Do you mean I should not have met the person at Midnight. When it was moonless wearing a Burka. They looked honest shoveling them into my trunk.
I do not buy reloads. I do not reload.
They were 38 special. I purchased them from "Cheaper than Dirt" last November.
They were so dirty firing, Kodiak asked me not to shoot them there (indoors).

Interesting, I have never seen or heard that about PPU. It appears to be caliber specific. The 75 gr Match .223 ammo performs very well.

    Yuk

I recall buying a foreign box of 357 mag that after firing six went into the garbage for same reason. Was like burning dirt flying out the muzzle.

Too bad I don't recall the brand. It was a blue and white box and they were pretty cheap.

    Yes! that was the first.
I purchased many different brands. Yes for the price for punching paper.

I also do not like the PPU. I have fired it in 9mm and .38 special. Used both calibers in several different guns. We have done some accuracy tests and neither caliber has been equal to most other brands. I don't like PPU , PMC Bronze, & Tula in 9mm. I don't care for PPU and Fiocchi in .38 special. Based on my experiences.

I have a somewhat limited experience with PPU, but what I have shot has been clean and accurate.
I even have .303 British PPU that shoots clean as a whistle.

BTW-If you're not getting your guns dirty, you're not doing it right!
Just be sure to clean them afterward.
