    OP repped for valuable PSA that should be common knowledge.

    If you have a safe in the garage, should you have a heating pad to control temp and humidity? We may be getting a new house and I want to put the safe where it should be for 20 years.
    A few options for safes located (and bolted down as securely as possible) in areas where high humidity is present or anticipated.

    Some safes come with holes predrilled for this purpose, and an electrical circuit will be required. If this is not desired, another option is desiccant to be placed in the unit and recharged/dried out at intervals.
