Romney also said he was for an AWB during the same debate that Obama said it. Stop playing this stupid game. Romney saying he was for a national AWB is on video. They were much more alike than different.

No other President has made a routine of going around the Congress and threatens to do so now with the 2nd Amendment. There is no one else to compare him to.

I don't know why people think the gestapo is a-comin' to get their guns. I don't think anyone of any influence is entertaining this as a serious political or practical possibility.

On a practical level, there isn't a registry of guns. They wouldn't know whose door to knock on. There isn't a legal requirement to report lost or stolen firearms. So even if they find you, you can always tell them about the boating accident that INGO members seem so prone to.

On a political level, the primary focus is on banning the sale of, not on taking away from private possession. I suspect that's because the anti-gun folks are concerned with preventing the repeat of the sensational mass shootings where the firearms used to commit the crime were legally obtained. Also the anti-gun folks don't have an appreciation of what it means for 300 million firearms to be out there, otherwise they'd insist on mandatory safety training to reduce the number of idiots on the range.

I do think some sort of gun legislation is coming, but you won't find a SWAT team at your front door asking about your .22 rimfire pistol.

Thats the smartest thing said in this thread. At the end of the day I have 5 guns and the supreme court has already said I can keep them. Thank god we live in a state that recognized our 2 amendment rights. They may make it harder to get but unless they plan to wipe out the Constitution, there is no way to put that cork back in the bottle. People are starting to sound just like the Mayan end of the world folks, we are still here.

Don't get me wrong, we still need to stand for our rights or they will be chipped away, at the end of the day I have faith in our Constitution and this current administration will go it's merry way.

Any private institution or individual, has an interest in self-determination. Govt should stay out of businesses and the bedrooms of its citizenry. Many of the ideas above, I may personally have issue with, but it is not my govt's responsibility to address my concerns involving free people and business.

Do I think JBTs are coming for my guns, very unlikely. Do I believe this administration will limit the firearms / accessories I may purchase in the future, yes. They also want to prevent me from passing my firearms on to my family when I am gone. Each day we must ask ourselves, what type of world are we leaving for our children. I'd like to think my kids and grandchildren will be able to enjoy the fruits of our constitution as I have.
