    Outside the coup
Sometimes it's a M&P9 Pro 5" and other times it's a Ruger 1911 4.25" LW. Kinds of depends on the mood. It used to be a J frame or a Kahr P9. There has been too much silly crap going on everywhere. Now the J frames are probably going to be sold and the Kahr is what is worn when I'm in the house. If I go past the mailbox then something larger goes with me.

I'm in day 3 of forcing myself to carry my full size railed Sig 1911. Half way through day 2, I swapped it out for a compact, but later went back to the Sig. Today, it feels pretty good. I'm still struggling with the barrel digging into furniture when I'm sitting, but I think that will just take getting used to.

I always take mine off when in the house or at least remove it from the holster. I am never really so far from a hand gun in the house....:)

I have been carrying a commander sized 1911, really easy to conceal so far and I am not having the furniture issues 88E is having and I carry it in a kydex holster at 4'O clock at a 15 degree kant. On a side note that same kydex holster works really well for AIWB and I am liking it so far.

You'll like it even better if you get an actual appendix carry holster.

I had not really thought of just doing the simple thing of carrying the full size outside the house and switching to the compact when I get home.

When I am at home I don't have one on my person. I just leave them everywhere so I am never far from one. ;)

Not to derail the original thead....but

Why do people insist on open bottom holsters, half coverage holsters, yaqui holster...then complain about things like weight of the gun?
Also why is IWB carry so frigging popular...I could never got comfortable with any iwb holster...even $200 alessi's

    Just wondering
    God bless

FWIW I haven't found a more comfortable way to carry than with my Dale Fricke Archangel holster AIWB. Seriously. More comfy than OC for me.

I often carry OWB with a belt slide. But, I never complain about the weight of a gun.

1911 IWB It feels very comfortable to me, carry at around 4 o'clock to 5. I bought the IWB holster from cheaper than dirt years ago and its still perfect, 9.00 plus shipping, it appears to be made of some kind of brown swede, very soft. The 1911 is on the slender side so makes a good IWB carry IMHO.

    Only 1 hour?
You need to wear your gun longer than that to get the overall feel of a holster.
