I am a novice when it comes to shooting distances and especially using scopes. I mostly sight a scope in for 175 yards and hold over or under depending on where the coyote may be. My question is..... If you sight in a scope at 100 yards zero with the scope on 3x, will the point of impact change if you take a 100 yard shot with your scope on 9x? This is of course if all variables are the same as when the gun was sighted at 100 yds.

The magnification should have no bearing on the point of impact. Set at 3X or 9X should not make any difference other than how well you can see the target could allow you better aim, so any difference would be because of the shooter getting a better sight picture, or being able to hold the rifle more steady at say 5X than 9X.
