What they got wrong is that Nazism is not socialism, per se.

The dictionary definition of Nazism is in fact socialism. The German name of the Nazi Party is 'Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei'. National SOCIALIST is literally enameled right there in the name!

I really didn't come here to argue po-tay-to vs. po-tah-to; if you want to use the establishment's false left-right narrative, go right ahead. For me, true right-wing politics (libertarian minarchism, anarchocapitalism, propertarianism) is literally the opposite of statism/totalitarianism whether the statists are Nazis/Fascists or Communists.

Oh, and if you REALLY want to bake your noodle, take a look sometime at the rostrum in the House of Representatives. What's behind the Speaker's chair on either side?? Fasces... as in fascist. Our government was hijacked a LONG time ago (100+ years??) and it seems no one's noticed!!

    :tinfoil:

Socialism means what it means. It’s not a po-tay-to vs. po-tah-to argument. It’s what it means that matters, not what acronyms are used. There really wasn’t much that was socialist in Nazi Germany. It was in word only.

As for anarchy. Is Antifa right wing? Surely you knew they’re anarchists. Right? Anarcho-capitalists are right wing versions of anarchism. Anarco-communists are left wing versions. Antifa are anarcho-comunists.

BTW, of course both the left and right versions of anarchism is bat**** crazy. Neither system could possibly work, though anarcho-communism is the most retarded. The name itself is an oxymoron. But the marxists think that the natural state of society is a scaled commune with no government.

    1. Adolf Hitler himself spoke at length about nazism being the 'right kind' of socialism. If he said Nazism is socialism, well there.

    2. Antifa is not anarchist. They're the paramilitary wing of the Democrat Party, which makes them VERY statist.

List the socialist attributes of Nazism.

Antifa is anarco-communist. Have you read anything about them?

That’s nonsense. The right has its authoritarians. The left has its authoritarians. The right has its anarchists. The left has its anarchists.

So where’s the list of Nazi socialist attributes?

You insist on using the statist establishment's false left-right paradigm and demand I answer your pointless question, when anything I have to say is going in one ear and out the other. That's not a proper discussion. I'm outta here. I refuse to have a debate with closed minds.

Statist establishment? Okay. I think I know where we’re going with this now. I ain’t going there.

I’ll try to drag it back between the rails. If you’re going to say an ideology is socialist, you’re saying that it has socialist attributes that make it so. Just like capitalist ideologies have attributes that make it capitalism. So, it’s reasonable to ask, what are the attributes of Nazism that make it socialist?

Also, given that I posted a 2D diagram upthread representing what I think is a more accurate model of the political spectrum, it should be apparent that I don’t think the left-right one-dimensional paradigm is sufficient.

It’s not that it’s going in one ear and out the other. I’m reading what you’re saying and it doesn’t explain reality to the extent that the political compass does. Your diagram doesn’t explain the entire “right”. It’s too compressed, much like the one-dimensional line.

Have you ever read about ancoms? Google it. They’re left wing, communist anarchists. Where do they fit on your doorstop diagram? ETA: what about right wing authoritarians. Where do those “statists” fit in the doorstop diagram?

closed mind? I’m actually pretty open minded. I used to argue the same point kinda that Fascists are left wing. And then I decided to dig into the origins, history and composition of fascism and my conclusion is that fascism is nether left nor right side of the political compass. Both can have ideologies with enough fascist attributes to call it fascism. I did the same with Nazism. Looked at origin, history and composition. It is not composed of enough socialist attributes to call it socialism. It’s not left wing. It’s what happens when right wing authoritarians go too far.

Did you really just reference a sloppy chart from the bad politics sub and try and pass it off as truth? Did you even read the thread where they are discussing how wrong that info-graphic is?

Also, to call Jamil closed minded is comically ignorant. It is a losing tactic to say, "you're closed minded" when you've met an opponent more knowledgeable on a subject.

So pardon me as I come up to speed.

We've moved past: "C'mon, it's ridiculous to call Trump Hitler" to "My guy's not Hitler, YOUR guy is literally Hitler".

    Um.....yeah.

I may be old fashioned, but there was this guy...Adolph Hitler....and he was literally Hitler. Perhaps it's time to have our political debates based in current events.

Wasn't there a thread or posts in a thread recently about people who literally didn't understand the meaning of "literally"?
