Dominican Republic is about as close to hell as you can get and last I heard you can't carry there.
    Sounds like a dream.

Fly a little further south to Dominica. Beaches, hiking, and waterfalls everywhere. I've been to Hawaii and it's very similar but nowhere near the tourists. Check out the Fort Young hotel. I have friends in the DR and it's still a mess over there.

I've never been to the Keys, but I have been a few places in the Caribbean and Mexico, and for my money I would go with an all inclusive over a domestic trip anytime. I stayed for 4 days in Clearwater and spent more than I have on ANY all inclusive. Just my :twocents:

In June? I'd go to Alaska. It's hot enough HERE in June. I'm darn sure not going someplace hotter.

    Crazy people.

It's not the heat, it's the humidity! Be sure and replenish your fluids.:40oz:

Seriously though, starting in about mid April the temps start bouncing off of 85 with a similar humidity. You'll be showering a couple of times per day until you get used to it.

We have been to a lot of the Islands and our favorite is Aruba. Every one speaks english and there is casinos in most of the hotels and they encourage you to visit them. No off limits because you have the wrong color bracelet. And the alcohol taste like the brand that the label says. But I keep resisting going out of the good ole USA anymore. Its a different world than it was ten years ago.

We used to go to Cancun about every 18 months and stay for 7-10 days. We'd walk, at night, from the hotel to the downtown area for a night of drunk and debauchery with no worries of our security. Since they've started shooting up the restaurants and beaches we won't return to Cancun. I heard that some idiot set off an explosive device on the ferry to Cozumel recently so it may get to the point that I take Cozumel off the list as well. I'd love to visit the ABC islands but here lately I'm kinda liking the (relative) safety of the home court.

    The plot thickens.

My idea of a romantic Caribbean get-away with my roommate has potentially turned into a family beach vacation to the Florida panhandle.

    I didn't see that curve-ball coming!

    Amen, brother.

Aruba! That's one of the best places in the world to take a vacation! And get raped, murdered, dismembered, and buried in a shallow grave by a Dutch sociopath and his creepy best friend.

We enjoy the redneck riviera! We change it up and have stayed In Gulf Shores, Pensacola, Destin, Ft Walton and Panama City. We're planning on heading down there ourselves in 4-6 weeks but haven't firmed it up yet, we may still head down to KW instead. KW is a plane trip whereas the panhandle is an acceptable drive just down the road in 65! We've been exploring the junk stores and flea markets all along that stretch of coast and still have several left to see.

Guess who's probably not gonna get a Caribbean vacation?

Guess who's probably not gonna even get a Florida panhandle vacation?
