Finally! A topic I might know more about that most.

It just so happens Mrs. Itchytriggerfinger and her family are from Philadelphia and South Jersey. This is SOP for East coasters. They're never wrong and when they are, they still aren't. Many a family get together has been shortened when yours truly throws all regard for his safety out the window and uses the phone to fact check.
Its not an east coast thing, it’s a wife thing.

I'm reminded of the Dan Akroyd line from SNL:

I was watching some old SNL....There is no way that crap would fly today...Remember Uncle Buck Henry "baby sitting" his nieces????

You're just sore because we pay your salary, making us in effect, your boss!:):

Whenever I heard that "I pay your salary," I had a line:

Well, the department's budget is about 3 percent of the State's overall budget, and I know the part of that I'm getting is pretty small. Looking at you, you look like you didn't pay that much in taxes last year, so your part of my salary is pretty small. [pulls dime out of pocket] Here's your dime back.

I did that a few times, when I thought I could get away with it. Never got complained on, that I know of. :):

Be quiet, and go get me some coffee! Oh wait you’re retired, I’m not your boss anymore, but still paying for you? You’re worse than a kid!

""The officer again directed Turner to speak with the driver.

“This does not involve you, one percent,” he attempted to explain.""

Love how the officer, inadvertently?, called her 1%.

When I was younger, I found Archie funny but flawed. As I age, I find him to have been a genius!

(and my wife doesn't recognize herself in Edith. Go figure)

Correction Carroll O'Connor was genius actor, even in his bit roles.
