Does anyone have one of these? I am looking into their .308 line of rifles because they have a 1 in 10 twist. I have read plenty of reviews on these but I don't really trust the reviews in the magazines.

So INGO, what do YOU think about any of their rifles?:ar15:

I want the twist rate for ease of reloading. My savage is 1 in 10. I am thinking about selling my ar-10 and getting into the DPMS line. Does ANYONE else use these mags? I tried to find out on their site but couldn't tell. Those mags are EXPENSIVE!

I'v got one, well one very similar. 1 in 10 twist? Those things ding the hell out of the neck of the brass though right?

    I believe it is 1:10

Not sure about dinging the neck of the brass, I shot one a while back but we didn't pick up brass - back in the day when ammo was cheap:rolleyes:

I have had a DPMS 308 with 24" SS Bull Barrel with factory float tube for almost a year now. First off it is a very heavy rifle 12lbs with scope if i remember right. I have a Burris Fullfield 2 Tactical 4.5x14x42 scope on top. I have around 50 rounds through it. I have come up with an accurate load of Hornady 168grn A-max that run at 2700fps and is not full power. Mine is not hard on the brass. I love the rifle. I am not the greatest shot but I have done 5 shots at 100 yards within a 1" square.

I think they do. Due to the high pressures that those guns use. I was looking at the MCR from Cobb (now Bushmaster) because those can be fitted to take the same mags as the PTR 91. Those are some good mag prices! I think I have 20 of those mags.

I am not overly concerned about the weight, this will be a "lay down with the girl" gun. How much did it run you? Is there ANY company that uses the DPMS mags?

I have this feeling that the .308 ar market will be like highlander soon "there can be only one" mag. I don't want to jump into DPMS without ANY other company using their design.

The mags are not interchangeable with anything else out there as far as I know.

C-products also makes mags for them, but they are about the same price.

My LR-308 ran me right around a grand, I have the 24" bull barrel with free float tube. Love it. Accurate as hell, and it is just fine on the brass.

A chart made over on m4carbine sums it up pretty well:

Comparison Chart of Major AR Brands - M4Carbine.net Forums

    WARNING - WARNING - WARNING

That chart is ONLY APPLICABLE to M-4 configured AR15s and perhaps some variants of the M-4 but cannot and should not be applied to other configurations. RobS and I actually have traded many messages on the topic and he has recently upgraded his chart with a 'disclaimer' stating that the chart is only applicable to civilan M-4 configuration model.
