Driving to Florida in May

I talked today with a friend who is a firefighter/ EMT in the Orlando area. He indicated that the state is a lot more focused on people coming in on I-95 than on I-75.

They are most worried about people coming in on I-10 from Louisiana.

and cause this will be the first time in 5 years that I dont make my yearly FL trip to enjoy some R&R.

Going to miss fort walton, clearwater and all those points in between. Oh the seafood I'm missing.

Atlanta is the absolute worst part of that journey.

Does it help to take the far left stright threw lane in Atlanta?

I-75 is my most direct route but I hate Atlanta.

Hmmm, when I checked this website to put together my quick reference card it said NO. Did the law change or am missing something in the semantics?

Trip down from Fort Wayne to Orlando went smooth. 69 - 65 - 24 - 75

Left the Fort at 4:00pm Tuesday and arrived in Orlando Wednesday morning. Slow traffic on 465 in Indy. The rest the trip was full highway speed.

Hit Atlanta at 2:00am and 75 was nearly abandoned, kind of creepy. I went 65mph clear through town and could have driven 80mph. All four lanes to myself, could see a couple pairs of taillights in the distance in front of me and a couple pairs of headlights in my rear view mirror. Hit truck stops for gas and coffee and ate out of our cooler.

Thanks for everyones’ advice.

Granddaughter is amazing. May not be able to get grandma to leave.
