I am trying to purchase a small quantity of dry ice in the Bloomington area. In the past I have been successful buying dry ice from businesses that refill fire extinguishers, but the yellow pages and google haven't shown any leads.

    Anybody have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I have seen it at the Meijer in Noblesville. It was by the entrance on the grocery side. If you have a Meijer down there, check it out.

    Where's the bacon?
I have seen it at the Meijer in Noblesville. It was by the entrance on the grocery side. If you have a Meijer down there, check it out.

I've also seen it at Meijer stores. In addition, if you have a Baskin Robbins (or other ice cream place) you might find it there, too.

    Blessings,
    Bill

Meijer is where we always get it anywhere in the state for blood transports, the key is calling them so they have/save some for you (they get it in their shipments of food products I think)

The science lab in one of the schools I worked for use to have the kitchen save it for them on delivery days. You could probably call around schools in your area to ask if they'd do that for you.
Otherwise, when I needed some for my scout troupe, we got it from Gordon's Food Service. All I did was call and ask and they kept some back for me in a Styrofoam cooler until I could go pick it up.

Excellent google-fu Andy, but that address is their corporate office and they do not sell ice at that location, unless I am confused.

I appreciate your help and may be wrong, but from what I can see it is a business office only.

    Thanks.

I have done business with them in the past at the location in Indy, so I knew they were based in Bloomington.... I guess I just assumed they sold it down there as well. :dunno: Sorry for the confusion.

Edit... I just spoke with my old account rep.... he said to check Meijer  I don't know why they won't sell to individuals anymore.
