    As CindyE mentioned, putting it in egg cartons with candle wax dribbled over it with a match stick in the middle to act as a lighter and wick, works really well for a fire starter.
    It also makes songbirds really happy if you leave it outside for them to gather together to line their nests.

    This. MUCH easier.

    I just put cotton balls in a ziplock along with a dollop of vaseline. I spend about 5 minutes massaging it into the cotton balls. To create a firestarter, remove one cotton ball, rip it apart so there are cotton fibers sticking up and hit it with a firestarter. Fires right up and burns pretty hot for a minute or two.

    Thats exactly what we do too and it works great!
