If you use the kit. Keep the can no less then 6" from the surface. Make thin quick passes to keep the paint from running or going on to thick.

Big +1. I used the kit on my ruger mark III and caked over the serial number. Since I'm waayyy too pretty to go to jail I scratched it off with a pocket knife once it dried.
